Job description

Marine Repair Services-Container Maintenance Corporation has over 50 years of Customer Service, Safety, and Family core values in the intermodal industry. Our technicians and mechanics are well trained in the industry and go through continuous education on the latest repair and safety standards. We perform timely maintenance and repair services according to the highest industry standards.

 

We are currently looking for a seasoned mechanic at our Huntsville AL location. Must be a good communicator while working independently fixing equipment. Must have experience maintaining and repairing intermodal chassis and containers. Experience doing stand alone repairs is a must . Pay is based on your qualifications.

 

Experience:

 

  • Repairing damaged containers. To include welding, woodworking, and overall maintenance.
  • Electrical trouble shooting/repair
  • Build new trailers and containers on an as needed basis.
  • Maintain welding equipment/supplies.

 

– Flexible to work in field, must have a good assortment of tools. Must be prompt, thorough, alert, and eager to learn and expand personal knowledge.

 

Chassis Mechanic Duties

 

  • Perform FMCSA chassis inspections
  • Perform chassis repairs of all types (20/40/45/53’ chassis/trailers)
  • Perform minor container/trailer repairs
  • Use of handheld computer for unit repairs/estimating
  • Strictly adhere to all safety rules and regulations
  • Repair equipment in accordance with IEP, railroad, manufacturer and FMCSA guidelines. 3+ years of experience in chassis repairs, knowledge of customary repair methods, and mechanically inclined.
  • To work outdoors for extended periods of time in all types of weather
  • Must have own hand tools
  • Ability to lift in excess of 50 lbs.
  • Possess valid driver’s license

 

Job Type: Full-time

 

Salary: $18.00 – $22.00 per hour
